FOOT IN THE DOOR

I am not trying to be grotesque or morbid, but you can’t revive a corpse by giving it CPR.

Stay with me.

When you try to re-live the past or allow your mind to wander (you always have control over what you think or expose yourself to) it’s like giving CPR to a corpse.
Our past is dead; it cannot’ be relived, because it was never intended to be relived.

Recently, someone brought up a time in my past when I wasn’t all I could be in Christ and in myself.

I listened and agreed to what they had to say. I was honest. 🙂

(p.s. don’t be too kind)
However, afterwards I would not ALLOW myself to think about it. Not because I was in denial, but because the enemy of our souls wants us to condemn ourselves and see ourselves as we were, not as we are today.

Satan did the same thing to Eve in the Garden of Eden. He dropped an F bomb in her mind.

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”  Genesis 3:1

Did God really say, are the key words here.
Eve thought, “Gee, maybe God isn’t honest; maybe I am not enough in His eyes.”

If you have ever regretted your past, or stopped to remember the GOOD OL’ Days…STOP.

Adjust your thinking!  Do not allow anyone, yourself or even those you trust with all your heart plant seeds of regret or give you a screwed up reflection of who you are TODAY.

If your trying to improve, CONGRATULATIONS!  Believe me when I say, people who bring up your past are either trying to help themselves feel better or pull you back into what you left in the grave. Don’t allow the enemies foot to get in the door of your mind.

Remember, Corpses stink because they are DEAD. They have no life in them.

Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”  Luke 9:60
Watch your words and the words you listen to. Eve did not walk away from the serpent, but you have her past to learn from.    Proclaim LIFE into your LIFE not death.
