DEATH OR LIFE? YOU CHOOSE

Scary eh? Choosing between life or death?  I am not talking about pulling the plug, or saving a child from a burning building. Those things exist but are far too dramatic for what I am about to tell you.

How do you choose between life or death? Yesterday I heard an older lady speak these words to a friend. “Well, my family has a history of cancer, so I might as well get used to it for myself.” It’s coming.”
I shrank back in horror. I wanted to run but the circumstances didn’t allow me to do so.

Why would anyone in their right mind settle for such a future prognosis?

I’ve known this woman for some time. She draws people into her dramatic stories for attention.

Some people desire attention so much that they will do or SAY anything to gain it.

She spoke words of death.

What if she CHOSE to speak words of life?  “Well, my family has a history of cancer, but I am NOT going to get it. I am healthy, strong and I won’t allow that to enter my body.”

Your LIPS, not your circumstances are the ones responsible for choosing LIFE or DEATH.

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
 Proverbs 18:21

What do you love? Do you love attention no matter what the cost? Are you lonely? Ask yourself what you LOVE and those same words will come out of your mouth.

Choose LIFE by changing your vocabulary or how you express your inner most needs or desires.
God knows what you need even before you do, and He Loves YOU.
What else could you ask for?

And when you are praying,(or speaking) do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words.  So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.

Matthew 6:7-8

I say this kindly? SHUT your mouth and THINK about what you want to say.

THINK about the POWER of your own WORDS.
Choose LIFE or Choose DEATH.
