Have you ever missed…YOURSELF? Sounds odd doesn’t it? After all everywhere you go there you are! But even though you follow you everywhere its very possible you may forget who you are.
Missing yourself doesn’t mean you forgot your address, phone number or even your reflection in the mirror.
Missing yourself means you’ve taken the wrong road, strayed from your passion, purpose and mission in life. I have been there many times. Its so easy to get side tracked from your own identity. In my 20’s I would spend at least 8 to 10 hours a day at my drawing board, learning new media, sketching and studying other artists.
Yes, I worked, but as soon as I arrived home I ignored the laundry, kitchen and even the outdoor work that needed to be done. My art was first. Irresponsible you say?
What about all the “things” that needed my attention? They waited. I was more important.
Reader, when all is said and done; when you know in your heart and mind that your time is almost over on this Earth; what memories will you have? Memories of going to the supermarket? Mowing the lawn? Cleaning the kitchen or washing the clothes?
TELL ME. What great catastrophe would ensue if you DIDN’T wash that load of laundry..if you took a ‘sick’ day off from work and spent your 24 hours pursuing your passion? What part of your heart have you allowed to die for the sake of a few bucks?
Your life line..is PRICELESS!!!! Go on Vacation, write that book, visit that friend of yours. What ever it is DO IT NOW. Don’t allow the poison of business and the greed for things snuff out the REAL within. Its waiting to show itself.
My GOD! If I could speak to you right now, I would tell you GO and PURSUE your passion!
Leave the mediocre and mundane. William Shakespeare wrote:
“To thine own self be true, for it must follow as dost the night the day, that canst not then be false to any man.”
Want a translation? Be true to yourself and of how GOD made you. Don’t ignore the time you have left. Don’t lie to yourself; you are no different than the rest. You will face your last day.
*Michael Landon, director, actor spoke these words.
“Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day. Do it! I say. Whatever you want to do, do it now!
There are only so many tomorrows.”
LIFE and LIVING your dreams is not reserved for the rich and famous. It was meant for you too. What ever you do today..DON’T LOSE YOU.
