I like GOOD things. Good food, good relationships, good clean fun, laughter, material items and all that GOD has so graciously and powerfully provided for us to enjoy each day. The good I just spoke about comes from GOD through Jesus Christ.
But good things aren’t GOD. For example, buying a present for someone you love is a good thing. But if they didn’t acknowledge your efforts or the fact that you loved them enough, how do you think you would feel?
Probably heart broken, rejected and very sad. GOD wants to walk with you in the small & big things. I am going somewhere with my son Spence today. Not because I need to be there, but because it involves his life and I want to be a part of it. 🙂 I love him.
Just as a parent wants to be a real part of their child’s everyday life, so GOD wants to be a real part of your everyday life. But he won’t break down the door of your heart. He won’t even turn the knob. If you want his power each day, you must open the door and invite him in.
Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock. If you hear me call and open the door, I’ll come right in and sit down to supper with you. Revelation 3:20
