STAYING POWER

PATIENCE is a virtue, but how many of us faithfully practice it each day? If your like me, its not easy, but it’s vital for staying power. Patience is a real part of Faith. It’s realizing that God’s Got You, your present and future.

Say with me, GOD’S GOT MY PRESENT & FUTURE. I trust him.  (how did that feel? 😉

Surrendering your heart to God will give you patience, faith and enormous strength to succeed in every area of your life.  But are there certain doors of your heart that are closed to God?  Finances, health, relationships, diet or how you choose to take care of your body?  Total surrender is the answer.

But trust me, it takes daily surrender to be totally surrendered.
So what is staying power? It’s the power to stay in the moment when you don’t have a clue where your going. It’s the power to wait on God even if it looks like its time for ACTION.

Truth is, God desires to give you more than you can give yourself. My pastor shared this story with me.  A little girl was holding on to her stuffed bear. It was worn and old and stuffing was coming out of its side. She asked her Dad for a new one.

That evening he came home with a new stuffed bear. “Honey I have a surprise for you. Give me that old bear that your holding on to and I’ll give you the surprise!”

The little girl didn’t want to give up what she had, even for a moment. “Give me the surprise first Daddy.” Do you trust me? was his reply. The girl held on tightly to the old stuffed bear. Looking up into her Daddy’s eyes, she released her hold on the old worn bear.

Beaming with excitement, she hugged the new bear.bearhug.jpg

I trust you Daddy!
Right now God is saying to you and me “If you don’t let go of what you have, you won’t have room to accept what I have for you.  Do you trust me?”

Holding on to what we know isn’t trust. Trust (faith) is knowing someone so intimately that our heart and mind have the peace to rest in what they’ve said.

If you, then, though you are evil, (natural) know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!  Matthew 7:11 (NIV)

Having trouble surrendering your plans to God? I’ve been there. Realize that He knows more than you. He was around before you were born. He created you.

He knows your past, present and future.

(You and I only know this moment and even then we tend to miss it!)

Its EGO that gets in the way of accepting God’s gifts. It kills our God relationship.

( If that offends you, that’s ego getting in the way. 😉  I struggle with EGO. We all do.
Think of EGO as Edging God Out. Christ loves you. He honors your free will. He would never trespass. Ask for his wisdom and HE can show you his best and the steps to take to receive it.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.  James 1:5 (NIV)

Look in the rear view mirror of your life. Has God ever failed you? rearview The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8

Questions run through our minds everyday. Why? We don’t know the answers.

God has no questions, all he has is answers. 🙂

Where are you going to live?

What are you going to eat?

When should you do this or do that?
God knows the best time and place for YOU. But you must seek Him daily. 🙂

I leave you with the following scripture. It has helps me  through many uncharted territories. It will help you to have STAYING POWER!

If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans pursue all these things, and your Heavenly Father knows that you need them.… Matthew 6:30-32 (NIV)

GOD BLESS YOUR DAY!
