Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping–believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” Romans 4:18
Abraham was just like you and me. He came to the end of himself and …the end of his strength and his faith. How did he pick himself back up again? He didn’t.
God did. Hope is a gift from God, not something we can generate. If we try to generate it under our own power its called worry.
Have you lost hope? Hope is a very precious commodity, right up there with time. I recently have been given some hope about my life. Even the most successful people lose hope at times.
Here are a few tips in identifying hope:
- It comes from your spirit. Its as if you are getting up off the floor or ground and straightening your back. You sense it in your spirit and feel it in your body.
- It will replace worry, fear and depression. This may feel, at first…strange. Like something is WAKING UP inside you. Something wonderful that gives a real sense of youth and renewed vigor. “He shall renew your youth like the Eagles.” Psalm 103.
- Slip on HOPE like you slip on a comfortable pair of shoes. It may take time, but embrace HOPE walk in HOPE and thank GOD that is it back.
- You will eventually become intimate with your own identity again.
I invite you to comment and share your own story of renewed hope.
